Overview - Golf in Kenya
By international comparison, it is relatively easy to get on Kenyan golf courses as well as inexpensive to play them. Apart from club nights and weekends at some of the bigger golf clubs, visitors rarely need reservations. It is advisable however to have your hotel check local golf clubs for any special events that may close or partially close courses from time-to-time. Most clubs have Saturday competitions with some offering post-entry slots for guests and visitor groups (also available for club nights by prior arrangement). Again, have your hotel check in advance for you. Public holidays can be another busy time on local courses.
Junior fees are nominal at most clubs. Playing as a member's guest is considerably less expensive while group fees can be negotiated at many clubs. Caddies are available for modest fees at all courses (ask the caddy master for a good one) as are clubs for hire.

Golfing Holidays in Kenya
Kenya is a relatively new golf holiday destination but of steadily increasing popularity with international golfing enthusiasts. More famous as one of the world's top five exotic safari and sun holiday destinations, Kenya is just eight hours flying time from Europe, and offers its visitors some of the best wildlife parks, scenery and tropical beaches on the planet. Hotel facilities and internal flight services are excellent and there are more than sufficient quality golf course challenges for the average two or three week holiday package. Playing any of the six excellent eighteen hole golf courses in the Nairobi area, the mild climatic conditions at high altitude make it hard to believe that the Kenyan capital is just a degree or so south of the equator. fifteenth hole at Leisure Lodge golf course on the Coast in Kenya
While the best of the weather is generally January and February, Kenya's golf courses are playable all year round. Many of the golfing expatriates at Limuru Country Club tell us "golfers at home would die for this". For comprehensive information on visiting Kenya > Kenya Tourism Board
