Eighteen Hole Courses |
| Kitale Club |
| Limuru members that have played Kitale say its worth the five hour trip from Nairobi, made better by on-site overnight accommodation and towering Mount Elgon in the background. Moreover, the course is a worthy golf challenge. The par-73 is a long-playing 6,869 yards for men and 5,931 yards for ladies. A unique feature of the course is the very deep 'dongas' (gullies). The challenges of this lovely course begin with the very first two holes, both of which are par fives. The third has a blind tee shot with a donga to catch the average length drive, The index one par-four fourth has two dongas. At 573 yards, hole fourteen is one of the longest par fives in Kenya, while the par-3 fifteenth is regarded as one of the most scenic golf holes in the country. Kitale Club sits at 7.000 feet altitude and green fees are modest. Friday is club night. |
| Resident professional Dismas Indiza is one of Kenya's hottest pros and probably the longest hitter - like a drive and a pitching wedge to the green on Sigona's long par-5 tenth hole. Club postal address: PO Box 30, Kitale, Kenya. Club Phone: +254 54-20030 |
