| Ireland is now one of the world's most popular golf holiday destinations. According to the definitive 2004 Golf World magazine survey, 22 of the top 100 courses in the British Isles are located in Ireland: of these, nine are in the popular south-west region where the place to base yourself is the Killeen House golf hotel in Killarney run by owners Mike and Geraldine Rosney. Limuru members Andre Hanker and Gerry Mc Carthy have both enjoyed this experience. The hotel offers championship and deluxe rooms, superb food and a 'slate' help-yourself bar where the walls are decorated with thousands of personalized golf balls donated by patrons from all over the globe. The nine top courses within easy each of the Hotel are Lahinch, Doonbeg, Adare, Old Ballybunion, Tralee, Killarney's Killeen course, Waterville and the Old Head of Kinsale. There are many other excellent facilities in the area. Windswept links courses in Ireland provide terrific challenges to visiting golfers and are regularly used by many of the world's top tour professionals including Tiger Woods, Mark O' Mera and others, to prepare for the annual British Open Championship. The magnificent K-Club course in central Ireland's parklands will host the 2006 Ryder Cup.
